Mission
Jewish Alumni Strong is a nonpartisan 501(c)(3) organization that supports stakeholders in launching Jewish alumni associations, and helps them proactively address inaccuracies and biases proliferating on college campuses through positive community-building and educational initiatives.
Why Jewish Alumni Strong?
Alumni from colleges across the country formed Jewish Alumni Strong in the fall 2024, following a year of antisemitic, anti-Israel protests disrupting US campuses. Higher education struggled to combat this bigotry and failed to provide academic rigor on the subjects of the Middle East and the history of Israel and the Jewish people. This created an information vacuum that allowed binary frameworks like oppressor/oppressed and settler-colonialism—which vilify Jews, spread disinformation, and delegitimize Israel—to flourish.
Strategic Initiatives
Create and Support Campus JAAs: We help alumni set up Jewish alumni (and parent) associations for their campus by pairing them with experienced alumni mentors who have created thriving JAAs. For existing JAAs, we provide opportunities to co-sponsor events – funded by us – with top thinkers of our time, as well as resources and support to expand their reach and mission and build community. Jewish alumni should be part of the conversation at EVERY college.
Thought Leadership Events: We bring some of the top thinkers of our time to alumni at every college for conversation, community building, networking, and education. We facilitate so that individual JAAs can co-sponsor and make these speakers available to their alumni communities. Groups at Harvard, MIT and Princeton have joined our events as co-sponsors. Events include webinars, in-person gatherings, film screenings, podcasts, and more.
Partnerships: We partner and collaborate with effective organizations in support of complementary missions and goals.
Why a Resource Library?
We compile fact guides, articles, op-eds, and talks by experts on Jewish/ Israeli history and antisemitism. We also develop resources, including: the step-by-step handbook “Anti-Zionism IS Antisemitism: A Guide for Higher Education” and pro-Israel templates to be used by our members, students, and allies to get ahead of critical issues.
